This is exactly how I feel about hiring but I had never heard it articulated in this way before.
- He said you either LEAN INTO hiring or get DRAGGED INTO it.
Why is this important to lean into it?
- Getting dragged into the hiring process means you have less time to think, desperation sets in because you “need to recruit” and this often results in hiring the wrong person
- Competitive advantage: Staying ahead of your hiring needs can give you a competitive advantage in the job market.
- You risk losing some great people. Many will be interviewing now.
- It shows your team you are being proactive and reducing the pressure on them
Get ahead of the game and lean in now. Getting dragged into hiring is to leave it too late so act now.
