Servicemen and women spend years adapting to roles and gaining valuable skills, but transitioning back to civilian life and finding a place in the wider UK workforce can be difficult for many. Despite so many people having gone through a similar transition, service leavers can often feel alone with a lack of visible role models.
These high-profile awards shine a light on the post-military achievements of veterans, thereby increasing visibility of business role models for service leavers.
The inaugural awards gathered over 500 business and military leaders earlier this year and the 2019 awards, on 9th May in the London Hilton on Park Lane's spectacular Grand Ballroom, are set to be even bigger.
By highlighting how military-gained skills can enable business success and showcasing the strong synergies between military virtues and business excellence, we can promote the huge value that service leavers and veterans can add to the UK economy if better utilised across the workforce.
So, let's identify more business role models for service leavers - nominate a veteran in your organisation at exforcesinbusiness.co.uk before the 21st December deadline!
