Detailed Job Description

A leading and expanding insurance broker for the education sector in the UK is seeking multiple Business Development Managers to prospect and secure new Independent School partnerships in London, South England and South East England. The Business Development Manager will ensure successful on-boarding and delivery of quality leads to other parts of our client's business while maintaining relations and providing excellent customer service. Ideally, the Business Development Manager will have a previous background in sales and account management. Experience in insurance is desirable however not essential as training will be provided for the right individuals. It is essential you are highly professional, business-minded, sales driven, and have had proven success either academically or in your previous career.

Applications from suitably experienced ex-military personnel (British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy or Royal Marines) are strongly encouraged

Key Accountabilities:

* Manage and develop relationships with prospective business partners and develop a reputation within your area of work
* Ensure the client's partners distribute insurance in a compliant and customer-centric way
* Have full accountability for individual income, pipeline and activity targets from new and existing partners
* Making presentations to outside commercial organisations and attending new business meetings with partners
* Attending relevant key conferences to generate new leads
* Successfully developing and managing a pipeline of leads and opportunities through Salesforce CRM to ensure activity levels meet income requirements
* Working with marketing to develop campaign plans to increase enquiry
* Identifying opportunities for leads to other areas of B2B while providing introductions and support cross-sell process
* Working alongside Account Executives to ensure smooth handover of accounts from new business to existing business teams
* Providing unrivalled service to both our independent school partners and their pupils/fee payers

Person Specification:

Essential:

* Previous sales or account management experience
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to exceed individual targets and deadlines as defined by the business plan
* The ability to manage own diary and workload effectively
* Confident in communicating effectively at all levels
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
* Ability to spot and identify opportunities for cross-selling
* A valid UK driving licence

Desirable:

* Have a Cert. CII (Level 3 Certificate in Insurance)
* A good understanding of the Independent Schools sector
* Knowledge of commercial sales cycles within the B2B arena
* Experience using CRM software

Salary:

Up to £45,000 (dependant on experience) + bonus (OTE £50k-£60k)
