Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen to work with one of the most respected engineering, construction, and project management companies in the world. They are looking to employ a Master Mechanic to work out in Jubail, Saudi Arabia on one of their major projects. As a Master Mechanic, you will act as project subject matter expert for plant/equipment/vehicle/crane management. Provide training and guidance to project and client contractors on related subjects. This Master Mechanic's role comes with a very competitive salary, public holidays for this role are Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, all other public holidays. EB5803 Master Mechanic

Salary: £72,000 (Tax Free), including Uplifts

Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia

Position: Permanent (2-year Assignment, possible renewal)

As a Master Mechanic , you will act as project subject matter expert for plant/equipment/vehicle/crane management. Provide training and guidance to project and client contractors on related subjects.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

* Embedded in ES&H function. Reports to Deputy ES&H Manager on daily basis, under Project ES&H Manager.
* Assume responsibility for setting up plant/equipment/vehicle management systems to be adopted by client contractors.
* Conduct assessments across the contractor works sites to check for compliance against published plant/equipment/vehicle management systems.
* Assist client contractors in setting up plant/equipment/vehicle management systems.
* Monitor implementation and application of plant procedures and systems across the project to ensure compliance and amendment, if required. Assist project management in development of project-specific procedures to augment contract requirements, where necessary.
* Conduct interviews of contractors proposed vehicle/equipment maintenance managers/technicians to establish competency levels.
* Act as project subject matter expert.
* Be involved in incident accident/investigations, and provide detailed comprehensive reports on same.
* Review and comment of relevant method statements and technical submittals.
* Assist contractors in setting up preventative maintenance programs.
* Provide training to Bechtel, client and contractors staff when needed. Produce training presentations.

Experience / Qualifications:

* BA/BS degree from a recognized college or university with minimum 7 of experience in the Plant Maintenance & Vehicle function, with at least 4 years on site and 3 years' construction experience. ( Preferable but not Essential )
* Crane maintenance and inspection (mobile and/or tower) ( Preferable but not Essential )
* Basic safety management awareness (IOSH Managing safely, OSHA 40 hours, NEBOSH Award etc.)
* High-level technical expertise.
* High level planning and organizing skills.
* Flexibility in interacting with colleagues.
* High-level written and oral communication skills.
* Compiling and Delivering training.
