Job Summary

Our Client who is one of the Leading UK Chemical manufacturer of intermediates is now looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to carry out mechanical fitting work and maintenance duties. The Mechanical Engineer must be able to use drawings and manuals to install, overhaul and repair pumps, fans, mills, vessels, tanks and specialised process equipment. The successful candidate for the role of Mechanical Engineer must hold either a recognized engineering apprenticeship or have completed a formal engineering qualification. This Mechanical Engineer role comes with a very competitive salary, 25 Days Holiday which includes Bank Holidays. The Mechanical Engineer will be required to work Monday to Friday at the hours of 0800 hrs until 1600 hrs.

EB5801 Mechanical Engineer

Salary: £25,000 to £30,000

Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands

Position: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 16:00pm

Benefits: 25 Days Holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays

The Mechanical Engineer must be able to use drawings and manuals to install, overhaul and repair pumps, fans, mills, vessels, tanks and specialised process equipment.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

* Part of the team involved in Mechanical preventative and reactive maintenance work.
* Part of the team involved in Mechanical plant installation and modification work.
* Minor mechanical project management.
* The production of Risk assessments, Standard Operating Procedures etc.
* Any other Mechanical Engineering dept. duties as/when required.
* Liaison at all levels inside the Company.Outside contacts typically include suppliers, contractors and agencies such as the HSE & insurance inspectors.
* The use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
* The ability to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals and other technical information to assist with all works.
* Authority to stop contract work and to exclude from site.
* The job requires a flexible attitude to deal with multiple complex jobs simultaneously to meet the required changes in operational priorities.

Experience / Qualifications:

* A Mechanical Engineering degree as a minimum.
* Industrial experience, post degree, would be of benefit.
