Job Summary

A Warehouse Manager is needed to join an up-and-coming events production company and ensure the smooth running of their warehouse. Our client designs, prepares and manages large private events at some of the most exclusive properties throughout the country. The Warehouse Manager will manage a small team and be responsible for equipment preparation, maintain a system of inventory and equipment test/inspection. A Category 2 license is required for occasional site work, pick-up and deliveries. It is essential that a Warehouse Manager will be available for paid overtime including some evening and weekend work. This is a unique opportunity for a Warehouse Manager to lead a small, successful and rapidly growing team in the events sector.

Detailed Job Description

A Warehouse Manager is needed to join an up-and-coming events production company and ensure the smooth running of their warehouse. Our client designs, prepares and manages large private events at some of the most exclusive properties throughout the country. The Warehouse Manager will manage a small team and be responsible for equipment preparation, maintain a system of inventory and equipment test/inspection. A Category 2 license is required for occasional site work, pick-up and deliveries. It is essential that a Warehouse Manager will be available for paid overtime including some evening and weekend work. This is a unique opportunity for a Warehouse Manager to lead a small, successful and rapidly growing team in the events sector.

Applications from ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this role and are strongly encouraged.

Key responsibilities:

* Manage all incoming and outgoing equipment using systems and procedures to improve the smooth operation of the warehouse, including: equipment leaving and returning is correct and recorded on the stock management system, managing equipment shortfalls, checking cross hires in and out of the warehouse
* Direct warehouse operations and manage warehouse staff, both permanent and casual
* Liaising with production managers for any equipment queries
* Ensuring company vehicles are loaded/unloaded in a timely manner and equipment leaving and entering the building is prioritised
* Service, maintain and repair equipment ensuring it all is in good order and ready for dispatch
* Ensuring the warehouse is adequately staffed during busy periods to ensure smooth operation
* Ensuring the Warehouse and work areas are kept in a clean and tidy manner at all times
* Driving company vehicles to suppliers and event sites to deliver and collect equipment. Ensuring vehicles are kept in excellent condition, maintenance is carried out as necessary and vehicles are clean, tidy and presentable
* Although mainly a warehouse role, candidates will occasionally be required to work on site with production mangers and freelance technicians

Skills and Personal Attributes

Required

* Demonstrated warehouse management experience of a small team within an equipment hire/issuing environment
* Good level of physical fitness (lifting required)
* Flexibility to work some late nights and weekends, sometimes at short notice
* Ability to work as part of a team or alone with little guidance
* A positive, 'can-do' attitude and a willingness to perform a variety of duties as circumstances require is essential, especially when project requirements change, sometimes on short notice

Desirable

* Experience of using and maintaining computerized stock management systems
* Technical knowledge of professional lighting, audio and power distribution systems, some basic carpentry and set preparation skills

Qualifications

* Full UK driving license, Class 2 rigid, digital tacho card and driver CPC

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum + OT

Contract: Permanent role - 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday)

Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm, with flexibility to work late evening and weekend hours, sometimes on short notice

Holiday: 20 days + 8 bank holidays
