Criminal Record Disclosure Reforms
The changes to the period within which a criminal conviction must be declared to an employer are brought into effect today.
A summary of today's reforms can be found on the UK Government website
There is a useful online Disclosure Calculator which can be used to establish when a criminal convictions has become 'spent' under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and has been updated to reflect these new reforms.
This can be used by individuals to check their own obligations and there is also a paid for subscription option for 'multiple users' who may want to check on the behalf of others.
