Most PM vacancies we’ve placed ask for candidates to have the following:

Planning & execution of projects ✅

Be an inspiring leader ✅

Ability to manage multiple projects ✅

Be able to manage people ✅

Ensure projects are completed on time & and on budget ✅

Working with multiple stakeholders ✅

A natural communicator ✅

Effective delegator ✅

To be able to deal with the unexpected ✅

Manage contracts & suppliers ✅

Adapting when things don’t go according to plan ✅

Managing documentation & reports ✅

Previous experience in project management ❌ ✅

The latter can be mixed, depending on the experience of the candidate but everything else is natural to an ex-service person.
