Calling All Ex-Military Who Want To Run Their Own Fitness Business

You need to be an ex-PTI right...?  Wrong!  

Full training is given at Lee Matthews' British Military Martial Arts, a dedicated organisation in the UK committed to helping ex-military instructors set up their own martial arts business, teaching military ethos mindset and fitness to adults and children. BMMA have over 70 locations throughout the UK and are on a national recruitment drive. 

"We have people from all military backgrounds here," said founder Lee Matthews, former World Kickboxing Champion and ex-3 Para PTI.

Instructors work for a couple of hours in the evenings, 2 to 6 days a week dependent on their own personal circumstances, goals and financial needs. It is part time hours with full time wages, after only a few months setting up in your local community which all instructors get help and mentoring with.

There are 3 types of instructional programmes:

• Little Soldiers 4-7 years : this is a foundation course in martial arts where instructors work on improving fine motor skills of the children and their ability to sit still and focus, whilst introducing them to physical fitness, discipline and having fun!
• Cadets 8-11 years : this program teaches children; stranger danger, self awareness, leadership, command tasks, goal setting, public speaking and physical fitness all integrated into the martial arts program.
• Adult Kickboxing 12 years +: Military style fitness including self defence, situation and self awareness and hardcore dojo training sessions!

All classes are taught at double quick time, like military PT classes, with students running around having to shout out answers when spoken to. All potential instructors must have previous martial arts or boxing experience and will need to pass the intensive 5-day selection training course. All instructors need to be super fit and lead from the front - people do as you do, not as you say!

The company's Ambassador is world renowned boxing legend, Nigel Benn - ex fusilier and former world champion. Benn said, "I fully support what Lee and the team are doing in their local communities with the children. I believe if enough schools are opened up it could make a real difference to society."
