September 2018 Is 'Moving Month'

Newly released data suggests that September will be the main month for those making career moves in 2018...

For employers, there is no better time than now to be looking for candidates, according to the good people over at CV-Library who have seen an increase of almost 5% in new candidates registering on their job board in August.

This bump in registrations suggests that serious numbers of people are kicking off their jobsearch campaigns, with further data revealing the UK cities that are seeing the highest increases in new registrants, which dramatically outstrip the national average:

• Edinburgh – registrations up 27.1%
• Glasgow – registrations up 21.8%
• Newcastle – registrations up 11.8%
• Brighton – registrations up 8.7%
• Bristol – registrations up 7.4%
• Sheffield – registrations up 6.8%
• Southampton – registrations 3.7%
• Manchester – registrations up 3.7%
• London – registrations up 3.3%
• Birmingham – registrations up 1.4%

The research also shows a month-on-month increase in application rates in a number of key cities:

• Edinburgh – applications up 10.1%
• Leicester – applications up 6.4%
• Glasgow – applications up 5.1%
• Manchester – applications up 1.5%
• Sheffield – applications up 1.4%
