FRS Director Sets Up New Armed Forces Breakfast Club in Dudley
Plans to open the first Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club in Dudley have been put in place by local businessman, Paul Lewis, himself an ex-military veteran and now Regional Director of Forces Recruitment Services (FRS) Ltd.
Providing a place for serving armed forces, reservists and veterans to meet people from similar backgrounds, the new club is set to become a vital part of the local veterans community.
Dudley Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club (AFVBC) will open its doors to veterans and serving Armed Forces personnel for the first time on Sunday 1st December from 09:30am until 12:00pm. Guests of Honour include two representatives from the Army (West Midlands) and the Mayor of Dudley.
Support and Advice
The breakfast club will provide regular events bringing together people from across the Armed Forces community, and will be ideal for those wanting to meet new people, as well as for support and advice.
When asked about his motivation for setting up the AFVBC in Dudley, Paul replied: "There are a lot of Serving Members, Reservists and Veterans within the Black Country, so why not get them all together and have a good old breakfast and a banter? My Army career helped me build and develop many qualities and skills. I learnt a lot and I want to give something back."
Paul went on to explain: "When you leave the Armed Forces, you miss the comradeship you enjoyed while serving, and transitioning into civilian life can be a challenge. The Breakfast Club is a great opportunity for like minded people to swap stories and reminisce. The AFVBC will also provide help or advice for those who need it."
