Leading ex-military recruiter welcomes MEP visit to the region
Conservative MEP Geoffrey Van Orden recently visited the Cambridgeshire region to discuss growth in the area. Part of his visit included a consultation with Forces Recruitment Services Managing Director, Graham Brown, and FRS’ Regional Director for Cambs, Adam Bonner.
According to local business leaders the region is likely to see encouraging growth over the next few years and Forces Recruitment Services is committed to be at the heart of that growth through placing the region’s ex-military professionals.
Mr Van Orden commented:
“East Cambridgeshire District Council is an excellent example of a dynamic Conservative-led local authority. Representing an enormously attractive area, they see the potential for growth; have the right ideas and the determination to turn them into practical reality. I shall give them every possible support. They have rightly identified the need to provide more facilities for business start-ups, building on their successful e-Space experience, and for infrastructure improvements.
“I have already been active in supporting the use of some £3 million of “EU funds” – which, in any case, I always regard as British taxpayers’ money recycled through Brussels – for rail upgrades in the area. I also see the case for a station once more at Soham and shall take this up with Network Rail.
“It is very exciting to see the growth initiatives in East Cambridgeshire. I am also very encouraged by my conversations with local businessmen. For example, Graham Brown of FRS, which helps businesses recruit former Armed Forces personnel, observed that in the last 6 months there has been a significant upward movement in employment opportunities.
Graham Brown commented, “We will be very happy to work with the council and with the Ely Cathedral Business Group to assist local employers to find the right quality of candidates as we are committed to finding candidates who will stay and develop with employers”.Read more news stories
