70th Anniversary of VE ( Victory in Europe) Day

Today is the Anniversary of VE Day, marking 70 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe and there are events happening across the UK to commemorate the occasion.

At 3 pm today FRS will share in the two minute silence which marks the start of the 70th anniversary Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph.

The occasion will also be marked across the country with over 200 beacons being lit, the first being lit at the going down of the sun followed by a chain of beacons across the UK.
