Detailed Job Description

EB5484 Field Service Engineer

Salary: £36,660 + OTE

Location: Home Based

(Covering Cambridge, Braintree, Chelmsford, Letchworth & Stevenage)

Position: Permanent (47 hours per week. 8.00am - 5.30pm Monday to Thursday,

8.00am - 5.00pm Friday

Benefits: Call Out Allowance, London Allowance, Overtime: £22.50 per hour,

The role of Field Service Engineer will be responsible to respond to breakdown calls &/or complete planned works on Conveyor equipment and related Controls. The Field Service Engineer role shall be driven by contracts and customer requirements as managed and directed by the Service Management Team.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

* To provide electrical and mechanical services to customers on Conveyor equipment and related controls.
* Respond to breakdown calls &/or complete planned works as directed by the Call Desk day to day
* Provide 24 x 7 breakdown cover 'on call' if required on a rota basis
* Accurately record and report all activities using the relative documents provided by the customers and the company
* Effectively respond to customer escalations with urgency to resolve their problems
* Responsibly manage the company vehicle, tools and stock provided
* Positively respond to performance data relating to our field operations to continually improve effectiveness and efficiency
* Prepare and write technical reports for internal and external use that can be used for quotations
* Ensure all requirements under Health & Safety legislation and required quality systems are actively adhered to.
* Actively demonstrate the support of other areas/departments within the company, to ensure that a team spirit is observed.
* Any other reasonable request compatible with the job description as identified by the Regional Service Manager

Experience / Qualifications:

* Electrical Engineering qualification
* Previous H&S certification (CCNSG, for example)
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Electrical and mechanical fault finding on conveyor equipment preferred but not essential.
* Have worked in a materials handling environment preferred however would suit Mechanic/MOT

tester, plant fitter, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Electrician must have Electrical or Mechanical

background with recognized trade qualification full training and support will be given.
