Trainee Life Safety Systems Engineer - REF No. EB5444

Job Summary

Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking to expand our clients existing field engineering team with the addition of a highly motivated and career minded individual to train in life safety systems engineering. The role of Trainee Life Safety Systems Engineer will be based from home and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to travel around the UK developing their technical and process skills with training on a wide range of life safety systems and equipment types installed within our blue-chip customer sites. Initially, the role of Trainee Life Safety Systems Engineer comprises a 12 week 'on the job' foundation training period, where the more basic technical and statutory requirements in servicing, repair, installation, commissioning and project engineering life safety systems, including fire alarms, voice alarms, fire extinguishers, refuge & call systems will be covered. Supplementary industry recognised external training will then be provided and tailored to the individual needs of the successful candidate, based upon their chosen role. This represents an exciting and rare 'ground up' opportunity to develop a career in engineering / life safety with a Company that cares. EB5444 Trainee Life Safety Systems Engineer

Salary: £17,000 to £20,000 (OTE £20K - £25K)

Location: Based from home. Within any of N London, Beds, Herts, Bucks, Oxon

Position: Permanent

Main Duties / Responsibilities

* To work fully supervised learning how to deliver various life safety system engineering works as directed by the office and field management team in accordance with industry standards and company procedures
* To complete electronic reporting in accordance with Company procedures
* To improve personal work skills through theoretical and practical in field and external industry regulated training, with a view to progressing toward a specific engineering role
* To always present and conduct oneself appropriately given the nature and importance of our clients

Experience / Qualifications:

Preferred

* Grade C GCSE or above equivalent in Maths, English and any technical related subject
* City & Guilds 231 Electrical Parts 1 & 2 / IEEE 17th Edition / ONC in Electronic Engineering or Electrical
* Engineering Background
* Any previous knowledge or understanding of life safety equipment's, such as fire alarms, emergency
* lighting, voice alarms, fire extinguishers
* Previous experience of writing any Word or Excel documents with high attention to detail and accuracy

Minimum

* Fully accepting of our outline role requirements, as set out within our prospective employee questionnaire
* Highly motivated, Punctual & Smart
* A logical thinker, able to follow clear instructions & methodologies
* Must have a strong desire to learn and be able to retain knowledge
* A fluent and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
* A confident and willing driver, holding a full valid UK Driving Licence with a maximum of 3 penalty points
* A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & writing emails
* A general interest in electrical / electronic engineering
* A desire to learn and develop new work skills, aiming to perform at the highest levels, so that they may be considered for future promotion and career development
