Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for the requirement of a Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer to work for an independent family business, who are looking to ensure the smooth and accurate running of the Engineering Department by providing a pro-active approach to the prevention of equipment failure and ensuring the schedule PM is carried out as planned, resolving mechanical and/or electrical problems in a timely fashion. We are looking for a talented and goal driven Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen an expanding IT team. The ideal Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer will be hands-on helping to maintain and further develop the IT Infrastructure. They will be expected to be proficient in desktop and server deployments, advanced 2nd line IT troubleshooting, and implementing IT project work. This Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer role will suit a fast thinking candidate who is extremely driven by learning and shows excellent experience in an IT support environment.

EB5062: Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £ 23,000 to £ 26,000 DOE

Location: Coventry, West Midlands

Position: Permanent

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday

Benefits: 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

* Managing a personal ticket queue, ensuring that all tickets are updated regularly
* Active Directory and Group Policy Maintenance
* Network Protocol management (e.g. DNS, DHCP, NTP, SNMP)
* Administering Microsoft Exchange 2010/2016
* Windows 7-10 end user and software support
* Windows Server 2008 to 2016 administration
* Maintaining network equipment such as firewalls, switches, printers and UPS's
* Working with specialist equipment (e.g. Time & Attendance systems, SFDC systems)
* Administering virtual backup solutions such as Veeam Backup and Replication
* Administering VMware ESXi environments
* Working with and developing knowledge around advanced HPE technologies (e.g 3PAR, FlexFabric, IRF Stacks)

Skills & Experience:

* At least five GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) of grade A*-C (or new grading of 4-9) including Mathematics and English.
* An IT Degree or further IT certifications (such as Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, ITIL v3) are desirable.
* At least two years' experience providing support in a 2nd line IT position
