The role of Engineering Sales Manager will have responsibility for all the commercial activity within Engineering, overseeing strategic delivery, sales team, sales process and company functions, as well as offering direct input to the Board where required. EB4573 Engineering Sales Manager

Salary: £45,000 DOE

Location: Willenhall, West Midlands

Position: Permanent

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday

Our Client who is a specialized in the supply of precision manufactured components and parts for the world's most advanced engineering industries, notably Automotive, Rail, Petrochemical and Aerospace are looking to employ an Engineering Sales Manager .

The role of Engineering Sales Manager will have responsibility for all the commercial activity within Engineering, overseeing strategic delivery, sales team, sales process and company functions, as well as offering direct input to the Board where required. The Engineering Sales Manager comes with a very competitive salary with a Car Allowance, Bonus and Pension.

Main Duties / Responsibilities

Strategic Delivery:

Analyse and segment market and potential for business growth
Define sales focus and prioritise activity
Develop appropriate go-to-market offerings
Define and implement long and short term sales plans, with clearly defined goals and activities
Create programs to win new clients and to expand revenues from existing base
Agree and achieve revenue and other targets on a consistent basis

Sales Team:

Maintain and manage an appropriate sales team structure within a goal/success-orientated culture
Develop techniques to attract and retain "best of breed" sales candidates
Develop team members and maximise potential from current resources
Offer leadership and experience to cement team loyalty and commitment
Lead by example in activity levels, commitment, professionalism and drive
With the MD, create and implement sales compensation and incentive plans aligned with company objectives and targets
Devise and participate in lead generation activities including seminars, webinars, events and promotions

Sales Processes:

Maintain and manage ongoing opportunity / prospect development processes
Maintain and manage ongoing sales team systems for account planning, prospecting, territory development
Implement forecasting, performance management and activity management systems
Constantly refine and enhance bidding, quoting, presentation and reporting systems
Develop and report on a pipeline of sales opportunities from new and existing customers
Implement regular, structured review processes and communicate with other Managers to integrate sales operation with wider company

Company:

Drive Marketing initiatives by supplying market information, insights and ideas for opportunity generation and business development
Define key areas for identifying target prospects and opportunities
Assist in the production of sales collateral such as product and service brochures, marketing campaigns and newsletters
Champion Product Development activities to identify new product and service opportunities and assist in product releases
Encourage sales team and other company teams to have a sales-led, customer-centric approach

Board Input:

Understand the key company issues including revenues, margins, profitability, cost controls and overall financial performance
Demonstrate clear leadership in alignment with Board and other Executives
Operate as an Ambassador for the company externally

Experience / Qualifications:

The Engineering Sales Manager will be integral to all the commercial activity within the business. Alongside this they will have:

Extensive experience in the engineering, manufacturing and service sectors at the tier one contractor level preferable
International sales leadership, with a highly commercial approach. Proven track record in:

sales generation;
account management;
meeting potential customers and attending pitches;
growing an international network of customers;
building an international salesforce;
setting up sales structures, incentivisation schemes, and performance monitoring

Motivational skills; the ability to manage an experienced team
Entrepreneurial spirit; hands on, self-motivated, with the ability to hit the ground running in a highly results-focussed organisation, and the drive and dedication to knock on doors and win new business where necessary
Gravitas; the credibility and presence to lead a multi- function team and contribute to the broader business
