Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for the requirement of a Maintenance Technician to report to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will carry out planned and preventative maintenance of assigned production machinery. Manage, resolve and prioritise daily repairs or technical problems that may arise during the shift. Support the needs of production always. The Maintenance Technician will be required to report all breakdowns on PLAN 4 maintenance system and to be proactive within the department. This Maintenance Technician is required to have an 60% Electrical & 40% Mechanical knowledge.

Detailed Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for the requirement of a Maintenance Technician to report to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will carry out planned and preventative maintenance of assigned production machinery. Manage, resolve and prioritise daily repairs or technical problems that may arise during the shift. Support the needs of production always.

The Maintenance Technician will be required to report all breakdowns on PLAN 4 maintenance system and to be proactive within the department. This Maintenance Technician is required to have an 60% Electrical & 40% Mechanical knowledge.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To optimise the effectiveness of the machinery with regards:-

Quick fault finding and rectifying problems.
Preventative maintenance and servicing of machines and equipment.
Operation of plant and machines, knowledge of the function, composition and procedure of the production equipment.
Early detection of potential technical problems, monitoring and assuring the quality of parts, components and products.
Maintaining cleanliness, tidiness and discipline to Company standards
Logging of all parts used for repairs
To ensure daily entries are recorded on Plan 4 system for the handing over of information to next shift.
Actively participate in the development of apprentices / trainees.
Give commitment to overtime working and flexibility to ensure workloads are complete before leaving shift.
Offer full support to maintenance colleagues and play an active role as a team member within the Department.
Attend call-outs when required and/or as per a call-out rota.
To carry out relevant training as and when required.
To undertake any reasonable request from Directors, Managers and other members of staff.
To work within the company management system, processes and procedures, so as to fully compliant with all standards, legislation, governance and specifications
To ensure the strategic direction, quality, environmental, health and safety policies are understood and where required the objectives, targets and key performance indicators are measured, evaluated and reported to demonstrate continuous improvement of the management system.
To ensure all activities enhances customer satisfaction and meet the requirements of all interested parties.
To ensure all activities reduce or eliminate pollution to the land, sea and air.
To promote and use the philosophy of reduce, re-use or recycle of all wastes, materials and products.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Apprentice trained to BETEC/HNC level, if no apprenticeship then must have good back ground in maintenance engineering
Have good fault finding skills/process
Does not have to be from door manufacturing background but must be from a high paced manufacturing background if possible (i.e not maintenance personnel looking after schools etc)
Able to work on own initiative
There will be 1 engineer per shift on a 2-shift basis so being able to work on their own is a must.
Working on cnc machines, Mitre saws, paint line, welding robot, presses, coating machine, sanders, lipping machines
