Job Summary

To manage to the highest standard the effective delivery and assessment of qualifications to non-apprenticeship and apprenticeship learners by the practical control and management of all tutor staff at Bushey and other sites.

Detailed Job Description

To manage to the highest standard the effective delivery and assessment of qualifications to non-apprenticeship and apprenticeship learners by the practical control and management of all tutor staff at Bushey and other sites.

Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Marines) will be particularly relevant for this position.

Main Responsibilities

* Manage plan and deliver VRQ and Functional Skills delivery as required

* Manage plan and deliver Traineeship programme as required.

* Manage the team effectively to deliver outcomes in line with budget requirements.

* Manage the team effectively to deliver outcomes in line with expected success rates.

* Complete all monthly tutor staff 121 meetings to review and develop staff performance.

* Schedule and manage productive monthly tutor team meetings.

* Carry out timely reviews with partner colleges to ensure full delivery of service level agreements

* Data management of systems/records required to track learner attendance, progress and achievement

* Review and monitor all schemes of work, lesson plans and delivery material as required by internal and external contractual obligations

* Provide pastoral support to learners in accordance with current duty of care obligations

* Manage and monitor timely achievement targets required by the operational programmes

* Maintain the appropriate level of discipline across all learning programmes

* Manage and monitor the Sub-contractor certification process

Key Competencies required for role:

* Must be well organised and self-disciplined

* Be able to communicate at all levels using a variety of media

* Must be able to manage and understand data from a variety of sources

* Experienced Manager of a team

* Able to influence successful delivery at external locations through a service level agreement and management skills

* Able to self-manage between roles and responsibilities

* Able to demonstrate teaching competence in at least one Motor Vehicle Repair Discipline

* Hold a recognised teaching qualification and maintain membership to the appropriate professional body as required by a teaching post

* Able to demonstrate occupational awareness across a range of Motor Vehicle Repair disciplines

* Able to demonstrate a flexible approach to ensure that the delivery process is of the highest standard, following the current Quality Strategy

Educational Attainments:

* A level or degree standard education or equivalent would be preferred

* Proven experience confirming competence in numeracy, literacy and IT ability will be considered

* Hold a recognised teaching qualification

* Internal Verifier Award D34 and/or V1 or equivalent or the appropriate Training Assessment and Quality Assurance (TAQA) qualification
