Job Summary

An opportunity has become available for a competent Electrical Mechanical Generator Engineer in the Nuneaton area. The successful candidate will join an expanding international market leader. The main duties will include inspection, testing and appropriate repairs of the regions self-powered hire equipment fleet. Applications from ex-military personnel i.e. Navy, Royal Air Force (RAF) or Army are strongly encouraged. The position is ideally suited for a person who has a good technical understanding of the self-powered hire equipment sector. You will have acute safety awareness, preferably with an H&S qualification along with a CSCS card. Manual handling and working at height training is also preferable though training can be given. You will have basic/intermediate general construction/maintenance skills and appreciate LEAN practices within the workplace and embrace change. Some flexibility in working hours may be necessary as the business continues to expand and you will have proven experience and ability to work effectively with internal and/or external customers.

Main Duties:

* Carrying out comprehensive safety/maintenance checks of all self-powered hire equipment before dispatch and when returned
* Completing and including all necessary documentation including test certificates and safety instructions with each piece of equipment.
* Conducting additional ad hoc depot duties as may be designated by either the Site Manager or Regional Operations Manager from time to time

Knowledge, skills and qualifications required:

Essential:

* Technically trained on generator/diesel or gas engines
* Technical understanding of self-powered hire equipment
* Have some kind of H&S qualification along with a CSCS card
* Must hold relevant electro technical qualifications

Desirable:

* Appreciate LEAN practices within the workplace and embrace change
* Previous working experience within the product hire market, preferably portable accommodation

SALARY

Salary ranges between £29,000 and £33,000, and can be boosted by regular overtime opportunities.

HOURS

The Engineer will work 40-hour weeks and starts at 08h30am and finishing at 16h30.
