Female REME Mechanic goes SuperSonic!

Army Mechanic Corporal Lisah Brooking from the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers working on the Bloodhound SuperSonic Car project.

The newly arrived female mechanic will be helping to build the 1000 mph car during her 6 month attachment to the iconic British project based in Bristol. The Land Speed Record team is aiming to inspire the next generation of school children into careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) by breaking the current British record.

"Its the opportunity of a lifetime to work on such an incredible project, particularly as it attracts an impressive 50:50 gender split which is great for getting girls interested in STEM" said Cpl Brooking as she worked on the Hybrid Rocket Test Rig that will power the car up to 1000 mph.
