Annual Ball Raises £30,000 For Military Charity


The annual Richmond May Ball this year raised £30,000 for The Poppy Factory, a charity that helps ex-Service men and women with disabilities into meaningful work across the UK...

The money will go towards funding the bespoke work staff at the charity do to ensure veterans find the job that suits them.

Chief Executive of The Poppy Factory Deirdre Mills said: “We are extremely grateful for the generous cheque of £30,000 from the May Ball. This money will go a long way to helping veterans with a physical or mental health condition find fulfilling work.”

The May Ball also raised £30,000 for React, a charity in Kew that helps children with life-limiting illnesses. React works to give children comfort, dignity and where possible, greater independence.

The first Richmond May Ball was held in 1992 and has been raising money for local charities evert since. Over 7,000 generous people have attended the Richmond May Ball over the years.
