Shweta Jhajharia    Shweta Jhajharia is a franchisee of ActionCOACH; she now teaches and inspires business owners towards radically improving their businesses. The primary products are one-to-one coaching and mentoring and group workshops for businesses. Shweta completed her ActionCOACH franchise training in December 2008 and got her first client in month 1 (January 2009).

Shweta has since coached/trained over 200 business owners towards greater profitability and sustainability.

Her business made profits of £151,585 on a turnover of £247,285 in its first year of operation (pre-pension contributions, initial training fee and initial franchise fee). Based on her success as a business coach, Shweta was recognised as Europe's top business coach within the ActionCOACH franchise in March 2010.

In recognition of her achievements, Shweta has been awarded:

- Enterprise Coach of the Year, Gold, 2010 (SFEDI)
- London Coach of the Year, 2010 (ActionCOACH)
- Europe, Middle East & Africa Coach of the Year 'Rookie', 2009 (ActionCOACH)
- Europe, Middle East & Africa SalesCOACH of the Year, 2009 (ActionCOACH)

More importantly, her clients have also seen award winning results:

- Best Business for Customer Service (Finalist HSBC South London Awards, 2010)
- Business of the year (ActionCOACH Winner, 2009)
- Entrepreneur of the year (ActionCOACH Winner, 2009)
- Marketing Business of the year (ActionCOACH Finalist, 2009)

The Challenge

Shweta started her ActionCOACH franchise in the middle of an economic recession. At the time, she was a 29 year old first time woman entrepreneur, who had moved to the UK less than a year ago and had never before lived outside India. She gave up her job - a stable and well paying management role - and decided to follow her heart to become an entrepreneur. She continues to shuffle the demands of being an entrepreneur alongside managing a vivacious three year old.

Shweta has single-handedly grown her ActionCOACH franchise from having no clients at the start of 2009 to having had 20 one-to-one coaching clients and another 200+ clients coached through group sessions over the year.

Success in Business

Given that helping other businesses is at the core of ActionCOACH's business model, the Shweta's success is inextricably linked to the success of her clients. This is both a worthy challenge and a great opportunity for Shweta to go out of her way to deliver profit, growth and sustainability for her clients.

By focussing on improving businesses, Shweta has been able to target businesses which were struggling to remain sustainable and those that were stagnating due to the economic recession and work with the business owners to turn these around. The testimonial excerpts on http://www.actioncoach.com/shwetajhajharia/testimonials.php testify the efficacy of ActionCOACH's business coaching.

To exemplify, Shweta started working with a Hackney based social care company in March 2009. The company reported a turnover of £1.3m and a profit of £110,000 in the year ended March 2009. They were however facing a growth constraint due to the systems in place and also dealing with cash flow issues almost on a weekly basis. In the year ended March 2010, they recorded a turnover of £2.2Mn and a profit of £210,000 - a growth of 69% in turnover and 91% in profit. They have also successfully systemised several parts of their business and tackled their cash flow issues. Given the nature of their business, their massive improvement is a great boon to the local society of which they are a part.

Across her one-one clients, Shweta's average increase in turnover has been over 41%. Her average workshop rating currently stands at 9.3/10, a testimony to the tangible value she has been able to deliver even in group interactions.

New 'Sustainability and Sufficiency' Initiatives

Shweta's efforts with local Boroughs and government aided agencies take her over and beyond the call of duty to create value for the economy and for the society.

In mid-2009, Shweta was in touch with several nurseries and childcare centres and realised that there was an urgent need to both improve standards and make these businesses sustainable. As a working mother herself, she understands the critical importance of quality childcare and was appalled by the lack of knowledge and business skills that were impeding the sustainability of these businesses.

Shweta collaborated with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham to develop the 'Childcare Sustainability Programme' for nurseries and childcare centres in the borough. This programme was an instant hit and prompted her to expand the scope of the programme and also include other Boroughs. This programme has now expanded to include the Boroughs of Greenwich, Richmond upon Thames, Newham, Kensington and Chelsea and Redbridge. These programmes have re-ignited the passions of several nursery and childcare centre owners and have also given them an arsenal of tools to succeed in their businesses leading to tangible improvements in the sustainability and growth of the childcare units.

The future

Based on client addition and attrition assumptions similar to 2009, the company expects to reach a turnover of £400,000 and a profit margin of 60% in the year ended March 2011. The company is confident of meeting and even exceeding its estimates for the following reasons:

1) in each of the months of March, April, May and June 2010, Shweta has banked over £40,000 per month in client receipts.

2) A lot of Business Coaching clients come through references and strategic alliances. Shweta did not have either of these advantages in her first year of operations, but does in 2010 as she has formed several alliances and also has a full year of success working with various clients to show.

Shweta's longer term vision is to be recognised as a leader in the coaching industry worldwide. For this, she will adopt a firm model, with Shweta training other coaches to deliver value to clients. The developing business model will be one of a network of entrepreneur coaches who share ownership in her ActionCOACH firm.

Shweta is building a high growth sustainable service business that helps business owners create and operate a 'successful profitable business that works without them'. Her ActionCOACH franchise not only coaches clients to achieve business and personal success, but also leads from the front by living its core values of excellence, ownership, integrity and congruency.
