The company requires a Farmer/Builder to oversee:
i) farming, maintenance and associated duties of the estate and
ii) a range of building/handyman duties for the company's residential properties in association with or under the guidance of an existing builder.
The company ideally wishes to recruit someone with a military background but exemplary applications from civilians will be considered.
The Farmer/Builder will be educated to at least GCSE level in particular in Maths and English, have an outgoing personality, a versatile and flexible attitude, be well-organised and have proven experience in farming, agriculture and building repairs and maintenance. The successful applicant will also have the ability to work as part of team or on their own, take ownership of the role, have an interest in farming, be able to work on their own initiative and be computer literate.
The Farmer/Builder must be experienced in:
combining and tractor work (topping, cultivating, harrowing, hedge cutting)
fencing - repairs and renewing
grain moving
hay making
grass mowing
strimming
caring for horses/ponies - bringing in, turning out, mucking out, grooming, exercising, feeding
caring for 15 domestic chickens
chopping logs and filling log baskets
identifying health and safety issues and risks at a basic level and implementing solutions
assisting house manager with various duties from time to time
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and the Farmer/Builder will be required to perform other tasks as required.
The successful applicant must be experienced in the areas outlined above and be expected to commence work with little or no training required. Additionally, the successful applicant must be able to use basic Microsoft Office applications without supervision or guidance.
Up to £25,000 dependent upon experience. Normal hours are 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday and such hours as are necessary to complete the work.
