Considered sales or combining your sales experience with knowledge of firearms and ammunition? A leading importer/wholesaler of firearms, ammunition and associated products in the UK/Northern Ireland seeks Sales Advisors for their Shooting Sports and Police & Military divisions.

Location: North West UK

Salary: £18,500 (negotiable depending on experience)

As a Sales Advisor it may be that you have experience of sales as a consumer with our type of products through either work or through shooting sports retailers. If you think that you have the instinct and are confident at communication and negotiation then this may be just what you're looking for.

OFFICE-BASED OUTBOUND SALES ADVISORS

A central point of contact for customers and sales managers. You would drive sales by account managing existing customer base, develop additional business by making outbound business-to-business sales calls within an agreed territory to existing customers and new prospects. Manage sales order processing and associated administration duties. Meet pre determined sales, business and product objectives and communicate relevant company and product information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development

  • Identify new sales opportunities
  • Identify and manage tender opportunities
  • Achieve agreed level of contact with existing accounts
  • Handle in-bound sales calls and provide technical help and advice to customers on products and services


  • Telesales
  • Drive sales in line with pre determined targets and objectives
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support
  • Respond to and follow up all sales enquiries by post, telephone or email
  • Plan and carry out telephone related marketing activities
  • Build customer relationships


  • Administration
  • Sales order processing, contract review, email, and filing
  • Manage One Office™ prospect database
  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information
  • Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys


  • Exhibition & Trade Shows
  • Attend trade shows and events


  • General
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development
  • Work together with and proactively communicate with colleagues
  • Work together with credit control to manage overdue receivables
  • Adhere to ISO procedures including non-conformance and customer feedback
  • Attend training
  • Gain knowledge of Edgar Brothers products and services
  • Perform any other duties deemed reasonable by Management as required

  • Person Specification

    Essential
  • At least 1 Years telesales or direct sales experience
  • Be able to achieve a minimum of 35 successful outbound sales calls per day
  • Experience of managing CRM and prospect databases
  • A proven track record of sales growth
  • A qualified understanding of sales techniques and negotiation
  • Ability to stay away over night on occasions
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Self-driven, results orientated with a positive outlook and clear focus on high quality and business profit
  • Articulate, quick thinker with the ability to use judgment and initiative
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise responsibilities and manage time effectively
  • Posses high level of attention to detail
  • IT literate with all Microsoft packages


  • Desirable
  • At least 2 years experience in new and existing sales business development
  • A proven track record of telesales both inbound and outbound
  • Hands-on shooting or military experience
  • Experience of One Office™ and SQL
